2012 National Session Registration Open

Posted On By

Become one of the thousands of attorneys to have taken NITA’s famous National Session. Immerse yourself in NITA’s learning-by-doing method and work side-by-side with some of the country’s top trial lawyers, professors, judges, and communication experts.

This year’s program is packed with groundbreaking trial advocacy training approaches. Program Director Ben Rubinowitz and his colleagues will present lectures and evaluations in many of the ways you might expect, but also in many ways new to NITA that are sure to change the way we conduct trial skills programs from here on out.

To learn more, read the full program description. We hope to see you here in Boulder from July 25 through August 2 for the 42nd Annual National Session.

As a member of NITA, I understand that our mission includes (1) promoting justice through effective and ethical advocacy; (2) training and mentoring lawyers to be competent and ethical advocates in pursuit of justice; and (3) developing and teaching trial advocacy skills to support and promote the effective and fair administration of justice.

An implied part of this mission is access to such programs that allow attorneys to foster such skills and qualities. I would like to request that NITA provide at least one Trial Skills and one Deposition Skills course in San Antonio. This would make NITA more accessible to people in the Austin, San Antonio, and South Central Texas area. Moreover, reducing the fee for small firms (< 5 attorneys) and solo practitioners would allow access to the type of training that is easily available to larger firms and attorneys in cities like Houston and Dallas.

    Aric,

Thank you for your post and request! The location of NITA programs each year is determined upon many factors including; facility availability, cost effectiveness for faculty travel/accommodation, the Program Director and of course the historic demand and needs of the program attendees. Having said that, suggestions for new locations, especially from NITA Alum, are always helpful and will be passed on for debate to those planning future program calanders.

In terms of tuition discounts, we currently support solo practicioners by offering a reduction on program tuition as follows: $250 discount on a Deposition Skills program and $500 discount on a Trial Skills program. For a firm with three or more attorneys attending one program, we are also happy to discuss group discounts.

We certainly strive to make our NITA training accessible to all and are constantly refining and improving this process. Our goal is to continue to support attorneys to become the best advocate they can be, whether that is in attending their first program, or in striving towards achieving their NITA Advocate Designation. Thanks for your input Aric. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like: Charlie – cwoodcock@nita.org
