Posted by Megan: On February 8th I met up with Dan Dowd, the program director; Shannon Carr, the administrative assistant; and Mariann Mohos, the assistant. At first I was not sure what to expect. I was a bit nervous, as this was the first program I would be attending, and I have no previous law experience. Furthermore, Dan and his team have been running this program for many years now and I didn’t want to disturb their processes. However, they quickly put me to work and I could tell that the whole experience was going to be phenomenal.
Shannon and Mariann have a great set-up process, and check-in went very smoothly. All of the faculty members were a joy to be around. It was easy to see how much they all enjoy working with Dan and with one another.
By Friday, the program was in full swing and I could tell that everyone, attendees included, were getting a lot out of the program. Even the witnesses, many of whom return year after year, were embracing the program and really getting into their roles as Alice or Stan.
I was disappointed to learn that I would be leaving the program a day early. The program was an invaluable learning experience, one which could only have been possible by being on-site. It was a wonderful experience and I can’t wait for the next program. I am proud to work with such dedicated members, and honored to be part of such a great organization.
